Welcome, DP students! Your hub for success. Explore resources, master core components, and excel in your subjects. Let's achieve greatness!
The DP is built around three core components that are central to the programme's educational philosophy.
Theory of Knowledge (TOK) is a course focused on critical thinking and inquiry into the process of knowing, rather than on learning a specific body of knowledge. It challenges students to question the bases of knowledge, to be aware of subjective and ideological biases, and to develop a personal mode of thought based on analysis of evidence and reasoned argument.
The Extended Essay (EE) is an independent, self-directed piece of research, culminating in a 4,000-word paper. It provides an opportunity for students to engage in personal research into a topic of their own choice, with the guidance of a supervisor.
Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is at the heart of the Diploma Programme. It involves students in a range of experiences and projects alongside their academic studies. The three strands of CAS are often interwoven with particular activities.
The DP curriculum is made up of six subject groups, from which students choose one subject from each group. This ensures breadth of experience in languages, social studies, experimental sciences and mathematics. There is also the option to choose an additional arts subject, or a second subject from studies in language and literature, individuals and societies, or sciences.
This group focuses on developing an understanding of language, literature, and culture.
This group provides students with the opportunity to learn an additional language or develop their existing language skills.
This group explores human behaviour, societies, and environments.
This group encourages students to develop a critical approach to scientific investigation.
This group develops students' mathematical knowledge, concepts, and principles.
This group encourages students to explore and develop their artistic talents and understanding.
